Remodel + Addition

West Seattle

.Our clients were soon to be first time grandparents had recently purchased a non-descript 1920's carriage house in the North Admiral neighborhood in order to be closer to their children. They were up for a project and desired a home that could comfortably host their family and friends. They did not want the result to feel 'new' and longed for a home with architectural character and classic details.

Given this directive, we introduced a series of two-story additions to create more functional space on both floors. We worked closely with the interior design team to create a series of layered living rooms that feel as if they could have been original but meet the needs of modern life. On the exterior both addition areas have been designed to blend with the original volume creating a cohesive exterior that feels as if it's always been there.
