Remodel + Addition
West Seattle
Our clients purchased a 1920’s carriage house that was lacking in charm in order to be closer to children and grandchildren. The couple were prepared to take on a project, envisioning a home with classic details and a layout conducive to hosting family and friends. The existing home was a series of disconnected smaller rooms with no direct connection to the garden. In response, two carefully scaled additions were designed to expand both floors and create visually connected living spaces including an expanded kitchen, central dining room and living room which leads out onto the expansive wrap around deck. The new addition area allowed for more generous rooms upstairs including a primary suite, grandchildren’s room, den and laundry, each with charming details that invoke the feeling of an older home inside and out.
